Day 1 : DELHI : Arrival in Delhi Airport and transfer to hotel. Afternoon Delhi sightseeing visiting Qutab Minar, Lotus Temple, Tibet House. Overnight at hotel. Day 2 : DELHI - KATHMANDU - PARO : Depart to Airport for flight to PARO via Kathmandu. Arrival at PARO Airport and transfer to hotel. Free for rest & Overnight at hotel. Day 3 : PARO - THIMPHU : In the morning follow the winding road beside the Pachu (chu means river or water) downstream to its confluence with the Wangchu, then up-valley to Thimphu. visit the Memorial Chorten, Overnight at hotel. Day 4 : THIMPHU - SHONGPANG : Drive towards Dechenchoeling (the residence of the Queen Mother) palace. The transport will reach up to Pangrizampa, the last motor point. From here the trek starts towards Shong Pang which takes about 4/5 hours through villages with beautiful vegetation, rhododendrons etc. Overnight in camp. Day 5 : SHONGPANG - DOPSHINGPANG : The trek start again till you reach the Sinchula Pass which is about 3,490 m. You can watch From this point, if the weather is clear, one can see the Phajoding Monastery which is just above the Motithang Hotel. After a 2 km walk visit the Thinley Gang Village, the Talo Monastery and the motor high way towards the ancient capital of Bhutan. Overnight at the campsite. Day 6 : DOPSHINGPANG - CHORTEN NINGPO : The trek to Chorten Ningpo is rather gradual and is a thick forests. Visit Villages and rice fields on way. Overnight in camp. Day 7 : CHORTEN NINGPO - ZOMLINGTHANG : 2/3 hours the trek trail will be through villages and take you to the the motor road which take you towards Punakha which is the ancient capital of Bhutan. Fishing in the Mochu (Mochu means female river). Overnight in camp. Day 8 : ZOMLINGTHANG - LIMUKHA : Follow the motor road till Punakha Dzong and then cross the Phochu river & this river that runs through the remote Lunana region. Half day climb into a forest of scattered long needle chir pine. You will see wonderful views of the Punakha valley and the Dzong. The camp is near the Limukha village. Day 9 : LIMUKHA - CHUNGSKHA/WANGDI : The trek ascends gradually into thick forest of oak spices and rhododendrons till you reach Dochula Pass. Visit a small monastery dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley. From Chungsakha you can look across the valley to Samtengang on the ridge to the south. Walk down hill till you reach the motor road and drive to Wangdi. Overnight in Wangdi Guest House. Day 10 : WANGDI - THIMPHU : Drive to Punakha Dzong view point at the end of the Punakha Valley. Return drive over the Dochula Pass, 3000 m, and stop at Dochula Cafe. You will see beautiful view of the Himalayan mountains. Drive to Thimpu. Afternoon some sight-seeing and shopping. Overnight at hotel. Day 11 : PARO - DELHI : transfer to Paro Airport for the Delhi flight. Arrival at Delhi Airport and transfer to hotel. Afternoon free for independent activities and shopping. Overnight at hotel. Day 12 : Morning Old Delhi sightseeing visiting Red Fort, Rajghat, Shantivan and India Gate. Afternoon free till transfer Airport. |
